earSHOTS Rider Lynette Deacon - Two’s Company, Three’s a Charm
March 29
Lynette has always been an adrenaline junkie, trying her hand at any sport to get the heat racing; snowboarding, canyoning, bungee jumping, kite surfing and obstacle course racing just to name a few! She even competed on Ninja Warrior UK, but after a move from sleepy Dorset to the mountains of Scotland she finally found her love of mountain bikes in 2013, having her first taste of enduro racing just a year later in 2014.
Lynette and her partner Matt moved from Scotland to NZ in 2018, spending the summer in Queenstown before settling in Rotorua, where she is out in the forest almost everyday training for the Enduro World Series. Spending so much time on the bike, often on solo training rides earSHOTS bluetooth headphones are there to keep her company and provide a little extra motivation on the climbs. After stumbling across earSHOTS bluetooth headphones on social media she had to give them a try, but so did boyfriend Matt and they ended up sharing a set between them. Solo mode means you can use each earpiece individually, but why ride solo when you can share an earbud each. However, after both preferring the left side, they now each have a pair of earSHOTS bluetooth headphones.
After qualifying for EWS twice already, but missing out on racing due to Covid-19 disruptions, Lynette is hoping for third time lucky at the NZ qualifying round this April in Nelson. Upbeat pop music really helps on the long endurance climbs in the Whakarewarewa forest. Although not her usual style, the fun pop tempo keeps a steady cadence on the climbs, opting to switch off the music and focus on breathing on the decent.
Catch Lynette on social media @nett.mtb or at enduro events around the country.
